The release of a UN report on the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in 2007 will be delayed until 15th April on the urgent request of President Asif Ali Zardari, Benazir’s widower. “The Secretary General has accepted an urgent request by the President of Pakistan to delay the presentation of the report… until April 15,” UN spokesman Martin Nesirky announced at a press briefing. He added that the report is “complete and ready to be delivered.” The report follows a nine-month inquiry by a three-person independent UN panel and was due to be presented on 30th April to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
