Engineering exports rise by 27.5%

The export of engineering goods from the country to the top fifteen importing countries rose by 27.5% during the first half of the current fiscal year as compared to the same period of last year. The export of engineering goods to Afghanistan, USA, China, UK, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, India, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Italy, Sri Lanka, France, Belgium and Oman amounted to $407.36 million during July- December (2011-12). According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, exports to these countries during July-December of the last fiscal year (2010-11) stood at US$.319.52 million.
