Etihad Airways Supports Zamzama United Football Club in Pakistan

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has joined with Pakistan’s Zamzama Football Club to hold the Zamzama United Inter School Tournament

Twenty four teams competed in the tournaments which took place from November 9 to December 9 in Karachi. The Nixor College team were declared the winners and were presented with an original signed Manchester City Football trophy.

The airline will also support the other football activities held by the club throughout the coming year.

Etihad Airways’ Area General Manager for Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives, Amer Khan, said: “Etihad Airways have a proud tradition of hosting sporting events globally and we are very excited to support the Zamzama Club’s inter school tournament and help promote  sports among the youth in Pakistan.

Such sporting events play an important role in encouraging the youth to lead more active lifestyles, grow in confidence and learn teamwork and responsibility while at the same time having fun. The Zamzama United Football Club was established in 2004 with the aim of coaching and training future Pakistani football players. Training sessions are provided for youth from the age of three up to 25.

Rafiq Malik, the Zamzama United Football Club Manager, said: “We thank Etihad Airways for their support and help in hosting the tournament which has been a very beneficial and memorable experience for all participants. We hope we can collaborate even more in the future to promote football and other sports among the Pakistani youth.”
