Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has sought the help of the United Kingdom to continue supporting Pakistan’s efforts to secure GSP plus status with the European Union. These remarks were made during the meeting with British Foreign Secretary, William Hague who called on the Prime Minister. The leaders during their meeting discussed bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction at the positive direction of the relation. Prime Minister David Cameron’s visit to Pakistan last month resulted in further strengthening ties. They focused on devising strategies to mutually revitalise Pakistan’s economy, deal with the energy crisis, creating an investor friendly environment in the country and improving the security situation. It was agreed that the UK will greatly benefit from investment opportunities in Pakistan.
