Trade with China totals $8.6 billion

Mr Li Jaishou, Chairman, China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Yunnan Province of China, stated that the trade volume between China and Pakistan reached $8.6 billion in 2010 – a rise of 27.7% compared to the previous year. This volume doubled in comparison to the year 2005.  Mr Jaishou made this statement at a seminar at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

He added that the trade relationship between the two countries can be further enhanced,  “Pakistan-China economic potential needs to be explored in true perspective as current bilateral trade volume of $8.6 billion does not reflect the gravity of our relationship.”
