“On this cherished occasion of the 79th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I am pleased to extend on behalf of the members of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan and on my own behalf, our profound and wholehearted congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, the Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, His Royal Highness Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, and the noble people of Saudi Arabia.
I would also like to compliment the Government and the people of Pakistan for joining their brethren from Saudi Arabia in celebrating this auspicious day.
The National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is being celebrated today, represents crowning moment of the struggle led by the founding father Late King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al-Saud, who led his people in a long struggle that culminated in the birth of this great country which he named the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932.
King Abdul Aziz was able to unite the land of his ancestral rule into a single country which proudly hoists the flag of divine unity, implements the Islamic laws, serves the Two Holy Mosques, supports Islamic preaching everywhere, and building the Saudi society into a modern one, through promotion of education, health, economy and security.
That divided society is transformed, by the grace of Allah Almighty and the endeavor of the state, into a civilized united society, distinguished in awareness, culture and knowledge. Saudi society is now modern and civilized while holding on to the fundamentals of its pristine religion, distinctive customs, fascinating heritage and is proud of its Arab and Muslim descent.
The sincerity of intention, determination, will of the people, and above everything the grant of success from Allah Almighty and then the cohesion of our wise leadership with its loyal people, has been and will remain a protective shield against every dissension and all difficulties that are confronted by any nation and society.
At the National Day anniversary, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has attained an eminent place in the comity of nations in all fields, political, social, health, education and economical. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is now one of the group of twenty world economic giants which has contribution in shaping the new form of the world financial and economic system.
Today as we celebrate the National Day, the achievements that our beloved motherland has accomplished are multiple, indeed innumerable, be they in the field of economy, communication, telecommunication, industry, agriculture and particularly health, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has done extremely well in the field of separation of Siamese twins who flock to the Kingdom for surgery and to benefit from its expertise, the benevolence of its leadership and the warmth of its people, which has certainly made this country the “Kingdom of humanity”.
As regards the security, the achievements of Saudi authorities are ground-breaking and superb. Their achievements in war on terror deserve to be written in golden words.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ever since its inception, is working to garner and devote its capabilities and resources in the service of Muslim world causes. It strives to attain the means of cohesion and solidarity of the Muslim world on the basis of belonging to a common faith. It has also committed all its resources for the service of Islam and Muslims. As all rulers of the Kingdom starting with its founder the Late King Abdul Aziz, followed by his illustrious and faithful sons, to the present leadership and auspicious era led by King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, have tirelessly devoted themselves to facilitate the Hajj rituals for the pilgrims. Expansion projects of the Two Holy Mosques at Makkah and Madinah continued steadily and now the Two Holy Mosques at Makkah and Madinah in addition to the other places of the Hajj rituals have become more comfortable and secure for the pilgrims.
The Kingdom has continuously been providing economic assistance to the Muslim and non-Muslim countries and communities, supporting and defending the Muslim causes and providing material and moral support to Muslim communities everywhere, through generous contributions for building mosques, Islamic cultural centers, and provision of assistance and prompt relief to calamity stricken countries.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia currently tops the list of world countries with regard to aid it offers in proportion to its GNP. The percentage indicated by the United Nations for the developing donor states is (.07 %) of its GNP. But the total easy development assistance granted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the developing countries through bilateral, regional and international channels, amounted to (245) billion Riyals during the period from 1973 to 1993, at the annual average ratio of (5.5 %) of its GNP.
Truly, the achievements that have been accomplished on ground defy description. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is proud of being one of the founding members of the United Nations, as it strongly believes in the global peace, which is basic objective of its foreign policy.
What distinguishes the National Day most significantly is that every year its commemoration coincides with a new achievement and an institutional work. This international university of research at the higher studies level is an epoch-making scientific achievement of the Kingdom which will benefit the whole region and the world as well.

Saudi- Pakistani relations date back to the time of Late King Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and the founding father of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Quid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. These relations reached the zenith during the time of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, May Allah keep him in His protection.
