BP to sell assets in Pakistan

BP Plc has announced its plans to sell company assets in Vietnam and Pakistan to help pay for the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.Spokesman David Nicholas said BP would use proceeds from the sale of various facilities in those countries to help raise $20 billion for a Gulf spill relief fund.
A spokesman for the British oil giant said the company has notified the governments of both countries about its plans.
BP said in statement on 19 July that the cost of its clean-up efforts in the Gulf of Mexico had risen to $3.95bn. It continues to run an integrity test on the well, on which it placed a cap last week.
